Arthur H. Bayern

ARTHUR H. BAYERN received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colgate University and his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.  He has served as President of the San Antonio Bar Association., the San Antonio Estate Planners Council, the San Antonio Estate Planning and Probate Law Association, and the San Antonio Area Foundation.  Mr. Bayern has been a member of the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Bar Foundation.  He was Chairman of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and served as Chairman of the Probate Practice Committee for many years.  Mr. Bayern has lectured and written extensively on estate planning, probate, and tax law matters, and was the Course Director for the State Bar of Texas Advanced Estate Planning and Probate Course in 1985.  From 1978 to 1990, he was a member of the Tax Lawyers-Internal Revenue Service Liaison Committee for the Southwest Region, and served as the American Bar Association Liaison to that committee.  Mr. Bayern is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law.  He is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

James J. Aycock

JAMES J. AYCOCK is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He served as the Estate and Gift Tax Editor and Editor in Chief of the Reporter published by the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and is a Past Chair of that Section. Mr. Aycock is a Fellow of the American College of Trust & Estate Counsel, and is listed in “Best Lawyers in America.” Mr. Aycock is listed as a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly magazine in the area of estate planning and probate law, and was named as one of the nation’s “Top 100" estate planning attorneys by Worth magazine in 2005. Mr. Aycock is Past President of both the El Paso Estate Planning Council and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council, and the San Antonio Estate Planning and Probate Law Association. Currently, Mr. Aycock is a member, director, and officer of the Texas Academy of Probate and Trust Lawyers. He is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Estate Planning and Probate Law Association, and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council. He has been a frequent author and speaker on estate planning and probate topics and served as Course Director for the Advanced Drafting: Estate Planning and Probate Course of the State Bar of Texas. Mr. Aycock received both his Bachelor of Arts Degree and Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

William T. Bayern

WILLIAM T. BAYERN received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin (1986), his Masters in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University (1988), and his Juris Doctorate from St. Mary's University (1993). From 1993 to 2001, he served in the Frost National Bank Financial Management Group and was Vice President, Private Trust Services. Mr. Bayern is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council, and the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Dana R. Bednorz, Of Counsel

DANA R. BEDNORZ received both her Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Accounting (1985) and Juris Doctorate Degree (1991) from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to attending law school, she worked at Deloitte Haskins & Sells, one of the then “Big Eight” public accounting firms, in the tax group.  From the beginning of her law career through 1999, Ms. Bednorz practiced in the area of corporate transactions and general business, with experience both as internal and outside counsel.  She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the San Antonio Estate Planners Council.

R. Scott Howard

R. SCOTT HOWARD received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Austin College in Sherman, Texas (1981) and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas School of Law (1987). He is a certified public accountant and worked in both public accounting and private industry from 1981 - 1985. After law school he served for 20 years in the United States Air Force as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Corp. Mr. Howard is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Federal Bar Association, the San Antonio Estate Planners Council, and the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
